I know about the Ivan Marx "mockumentary". I saw that myself in the 70's, and I've got one of those Wally World $1 DVDs.

I also know about LEGEND OF BOGGY CREEK. I DIDN'T see that in the 70's, but I've seen the DVD.

Was there another documentary in the 1970's - or late 1960's - that included a recreated BF 'scream'? I don't know if this documentary was by Roger Patterson - and the scream was his - but I saw SOME documentary back-in-the-day, and I'm trying to figure out what it was. It seems like it was produced by some company - "AMERICAN {somebody}"?, that produced nature-type documentaries.

I remember that the scream really freaked me out. I tried searching IMDB and YouTube, but all I get are the actually PG film, or recent documentaries about the PG film.

Thanks in advance.

The last word in the Subject line is supposed to be "Theaters". I didn't realize the Subject line was going to 'cut me off' {so to speak} like that....

There was a movie called "Sasquatch" from that time period that is filmed like a documentary, but it was all fiction. It has a great scream in it. I bet that is the film you are thinking about!

The documentary you describe sounds a lot like the movie that Patterson traveled around the NW, presenting and showing. Saw it at a local theater in Gresham, OR.

The scream sounded to me as if it were a combination of a lion's roar and an elephant's trumpet.

IIRC, the movie was made by some film company called "American {something}". NOT "American International", but something else. {Maybe it wasn't even "American...", but I'd remember if I saw the name or logo.} Seems like I saw one or two other nature documentaries {in the theater or on TV} by the same company, and whenever I saw their logo I expected to hear the "dreaded" BF scream.

IF I saw the Patterson documentary, I saw it in St. Petersburg, Florida. I have never been to the PNW. The only place I went to as a kid was Southern Indiana, and I'm certain I didn't see this movie there.

Kathy, I just reread your reply above. Maybe THAT was the film I'm thinking about. I'll check it out. Thanks for the info.
